So Braden is in Karate in a Tiny tigers class and recently upgraded to an orange belt.

Barry just celebrated his 33rd birthday on May 11th

Braden was also selected to be in the Fairy tale bowl at school and he recieved a book of his choice for participating :)

Lincoln finished up his soccer season and was glad that it was over, it really was getting too hot to play. I think we will stick with the fall/winter seasons

Braden also just recieved his Tiger cub award with scouts. He signed up through school and loves it.

Lincoln just graduated from Voluntary Pre-kindergarten and this is his singing a song

These were Lincoln's wonderful teachers Miss Nichole and Miss Melba. They were amazing and Lincoln loved going to school.

The missing pope family

So we have been missing in action, I have no excuses just laziness. Here are a few things that have been going on with the Pope family.

On the September 11th weekend my mom and I had a wonderful trip New York City. It was my first time being there. Someone told me not to look like a tourist or I would get taken advantage of, can't say that I did a very good job of that. The first step off of the shuttle from the airport and my jaw just dropped and all I could do was stare. We got to see ground zero and the work being done on it. We also got to see Wicked my all time favorite musical. Overall we had an AMAZING time.

When I got home from NYC, my Dad and step-mom Michelle came to visit us. While they were here they looked at retirement communities...I was crossing my fingers that they would find something that they liked. We also wend to the Florida State BYU game. We had a great time with them here.

Lincoln played soccer this fall and LOVED it. He will play again in the spring.

This year for Halloween Brooklyn was a kitty cat, Braden was Darth Vader, and Lincoln was red ranger.

We also visited Busch gardens frequently the kids love it.

We had a fun Christmas this year lots of visitors this picture was taken at the Nativity.

Last but not least we are having a new addition to our family. We are really excited, I am a little nervous though. That is what is happening with the Pope's lately.

Barry got this dart board for Christmas like 2 years ago and we finally started to use it. We had a fun family game night.

We also recently had some friends of ours over and we had a bond fire. Matt and Barry got this fabulous idea of roasting marshmallows. They didn't want to burn their hands so they put the skewers on the end of these enormous poles.

Next we had a sprinkler day...nothing better than cooling off in the sprinklers on a hot sunny day!

And last but not least Brooklyn got some princess stuff and boy does she love it! She is such a girlie girl!

Big Time Catch Up!

I know, I know, it seems that the Pope family has dropped off the face of the earth. Tis not so, I say! We are alive and well, I have have just been lazy. Any hoo, here are some catch up pictures.

GRANDMA STEWART COMES TO VISIT!

It was so fun having my mom here. One night we put curlers in Brooklyn's hair. I forgot to take an after picture :(

Grandma Stewart threw a Pope Birthday Party. We celebrated all of our Birthdays while she was here. Barry got a grill from her and so we had yummy BBQ for dinner.

Poor Brooklyn

Brooklyn has had a hard last couple of months, she has split her chin open twice, had a lot of bruises from falling. She just keeps getting hurt. About 3 weeks ago Lincoln hit her with a miniature gardening hoe. We got it so the boys could help us in the yard. Well I have no idea how it happened, but he manage to hit her directly on her two front teeth, notice the triangle looking chip. To top it all off this week she had a fight with some concrete steps and the steps won, hence the scratch on her forehead, eye, and cheek. She a walking accident waiting to happen. I hope she gets out of this phase soon!

Today was kind of a stressful day. It started out great with my friend Dagmar coming over, but then it kind of headed down hill for a while. We have this hole in the front of our house where the previous owners had put in a pond. They ripped it out before we moved in, so we had to fill it in with Dirt. We had hired a young fellow to come and do the work for us, but he got sick and ended up asking his grandpa, who runs the nursery part of the business, to come and dump the dirt. He showed up by himself and I asked him if he needed me to help guide him back up the truck. He kindly rejected me so I stood aside and watched. Well some older folks don't have very goodjudgement when it comes to distances. This man happened to be one of them. He was like theenergizer bunny. He kept going and going and going....until it was to late, he was over the side walk and sliding down into the hole and into our house. Luckily the truck hit the corner of our garage and didn't do a ton of damage, but still, we have only been living here for a couple of weeks! We were blessed, he could have done a lot more damage than he did. Oh well, life goes on...just like that energizer bunny :)

As many of you know we just purchased a home. It is a wonderful home and we are so very happy with the way it turned out. We have put a lot of work into it, paint, carpet, wood flooring, and a lot of elbow grease. We still have a ways to go, but we love our beautiful home!

I just LOVE our new house but my absolute favorite part of the whole house is the master bathroom! I have never had a bathroom like this and I love it. I especially love the tub:)

Yard Work

Today as the boys played outside and Brooklyn slept, I decided I was going to do some yard work. So I got out my little branch cutters and was going to cut the palm trees and the bushes outside. As I was putting on my gloves my good neighbor Danny saw and me and before I knew it I heard a power saw being reved up. He walked over to me and said, "You are more than welcome to use this. It is really easy." So he showed me and so I gladly took it off his hands. I have never gotten to use a power tool before. IT IS AWESOME! So I trimmed all the bushes and then I trimmed the palm trees. The branches were so overgrown they were hanging all the way to the ground. Even though the palms are brown I still say they look much better than they did. There is some green so hopefully they will return to life when spring comes. The job could have taken the whole day, but, thanks to danny it only took me an hour :) I have decided that I love working in the yard! Hopefully I will still enjoy it when it is 95 degrees outside and 100% humidity.

Camping

Every year all of Barry's married siblings have a camping trip. This year we got to go because we weren't travelling. It was fun, but it was a little too cold for me. At night it got down in the 30's. Oh so cold!!!! But we got to go on a little boat ride, make s'mores, have foil dinners, drink lots of hot chocolate, and enjoy each others company.

Sorry I'm so late in writing about Christmas. I still haven't even posted pictures from my mom's visit, but then again, she took them all :) But we went to go see Barry's Grandpa Turnbull and had a great time. Brooklyn took to him so well. She just loved him!

Then came Christmas eve, the kids were so excited for santa clause to come that we didn't have any problem putting them to bed.

We gave the boys a bat cave for christmas. They LOVED it as you can see from their faces.

Thanksgiving break

My dad and my brother, Ryan, were able to come for the Thanksgiving weekend! We had such a fun time. On Thursday morning we went to the turkey bowl. Dad and Ryan played with Barry and his brothers. It was fun seeing them play together. Lincoln grabbed Barry's keys and used the little whistle on them. We called him the referee of the game!

Then we went to the Pope's for Thanksgiving dinner. We had a wonderful feast and had a great time being with them and of course watching football. I cooked a turkey all by myself this thanksgiving and it turned out yummy.

On Friday we went bowling! I think it was Braden and Lincoln's first time bowling. They had a blast. Braden did a little victory dance after every time that he bowled. Pretty funny. I also never knew that a person could a gutter ball when they had the bumpers on. Lincoln is a pro at doing that.

After bowling we went out to lunch and we were going to go to Mosi, but I locked the keys in the van. My brother in law Jeff saved us and brought us out a spare key. So we ran out of time and so we just went home and played rock band. It was pretty awesome. We got the Beetles rock band game and loved it. Growing up I listened to the Beetles a lot being that it was Ryan's favorite band and my dad loves the Beetles as well.

On Saturday My Dad, Ryan, Braden and I went to the Miami/USF game. We had a great time.

Ryan Left on Sunday and my dad left this morning. We are missing them already!

So every time I get out the camera Lincoln wants me to take his picture! He loves it! So I got out the camera to take a video of Brooklyn walking and he threw a fit. So I took a picture of him. He is such a cute kid!

Brooklyn is also walking. Finally at 15 months she decided that she wanted to be like everyone else in the family!

Braden earned citizenship

This last week Braden earned citizenship at Mintz Elementary School. They don't give grades to kindergartners on their first report card, but they do give them citizenship if they have been a good student. So Braden not only earned citizenship but he earned a Super Star Award! Good job Braden!

I put Brooklyn's hair in two braids the other day. After I was finished I got the camera and said, "okay Brooklyn, say cheese!" This is the best cheese face that I have seen ever! She even said cheese!

I am so proud of him, I couldn't ask for a greater husband. It gave me such great joy seeing Robin, his dad, hood him and then seeing him walk across the stage the next day. Yay for Barry!

Braden's 5th Birthday was this past Friday, July 31st. We had a wonderful time. On Thursday night we went to pump it up. Tyler and Travis, Braden's cousins came along. All of the boys loved it. Then on Friday night all of the family came over for cake and ice cream.

So, the other night after I had put the boys to bed, Brooklyn and I went downstairs. The boys would not stay out of bed so I put Brooklyn down and quickly ran upstairs to put the boys back in bed. So when I come back down what do I find? Brooklyn is sitting in the kitchen with a jar of Nutella and she is just going to town. I just couldn't help but laugh.

Summer Fun

As a child I remember the sheer joy that I felt when running through sprinklers. I saw that with my boys this past week. I let them go outside and run in the sprinklers. It was so fun watching them and brought back a lot of fun memories.

Brooklyn loves music. She has amazed us with her dancing abilities. She started dancing about 2-3 months ago and just loves to dance. I have been trying to get it on camera and I finally did! We had a lot happen within the last few weeks. First was Easter. We went to an Easter egg hunt at the park with a lot of friends, then was Easter itself. My birthday was a great one this year. I turned 25! Yay! I was so grateful to my friends who made me cupcakes and ice cream, I would have felt pretty lame making a cake for myself. Lincoln was kind of confused because he kept thinking it was his birthday. So he kept getting upset. I kept having to explain to him that his birthday was 2 days later. It was a nice day though.

We then celebrated Lincoln's Birthday, He was so happy that day. I have never seen him smile so much. We had a potty chart for Lincoln when we started potty training him. We told him that if he filled up the chart that he could have something special that he got to pick out. So he picked out going to Chuck E. Cheese. So he finished his potty chart about a week ago, so we celebrated his being potty trained and turning three by going to C.E.C. It was fun. Then we came home and had cake and ice cream with the family. I cannot believe that Lincoln is 3! I am so glad to have him as my son.

A new Twilight fan

So every afternoon before the kids go down for naps I tell them a bedtime story. I try to tell all kinds of stories. I have told smurf stories,the Jetsons, Flinstones, Spiderman, Superman, Batman, Rosa Park, Albert Einstein, George Washington, Baden Powell, Abraham Lincoln...you get the idea. So today I was trying to think of something new and I decided I was going to tell them about Edward Cullen and Bella Swan. So for those of you who know the Twilight story I told them up to the part right before Bella figures out what Edward really is, and then I told them that I would finish telling them the story later. Braden turned to me and said, "But what is Edward, Mom?" I said, "You'll just have to wait and see. What do you think he is?" Braden said, "A super hero, maybe incredible hulk!" So 20 minutes after I had put them to bed, Braden got up to use the bathroom and while he was on his way to the bathroom he looked at me rather intensely and said, "But Mom, what is Edward!?!" I said, "you'll just have to wait." So then he woke up from his nap and said, "Mom will you tell me what Edward is, please?" So I finished the story and told him all about vampires and told him an edited version of the story. So now he has decided that he is a good vampire like Edward and we are a vampire family. He runs around chasing Lincoln acting like he is going to bite him. Don't worry I'm not totally irresponsible, I did tell him that vampires weren't real and made sure that he understood that. At the end of the story of Twilight he asked me, "Mom, what happened to the other 2 bad vampires, the ones that were with James?" So I told him that was a story for another time. I was so surpised that he took to the story so quickly, but why should I be, IT'S TWILIGHT!!!

Our Camping Trip

We recently went camping with Barry's sister Leigh in the panhandle of FL. Our campsite was right on the beach. It was so beautiful. The first night we were there, we went and watched the sunset. It was amazing. We had fun just hanging out, swimming, eating s'mores and foil dinners, and enjoying the scenery. Thanks Leigh for finding us the perfect place to spend Barry's spring break!

I started my new calling as Primary Chorister this week. It was fun, but I was so nervous. My friend, Dania Alvarez, tag teamed with me for sharing time so it made it easier. She was the old primary chorister but is now in the primary presidency. I think I will have a blast, but I have to admit that I really missed the nursery kids this week. I stopped by after church and Isaac Pirotta ran up to me and gave me a big hug and showed me his picture....it made me sad that I won't be in there anymore. I love you nursery kids!

Monday, the third day that we were here, we had a big snow storm. It was so great! The boys have only had a chance to play in the snow once before so they loved it. Every chance they could get they would put a handful of it in their mouths. Good thing it wasn't yellow. They had a fun time building a snowman too. They named him Clark, after superman. It was a great time.

Christmas in Utah!

We are in Utah visiting my parents and we are having a wonderful time so far. The only downside is that our baggage got lost. STINKY! We haven't had it for five days! Barry's, Brooklyn's, and my clothes are missing. Oh well, at least we have some travel vouchers. The kids love spending time with their Grandma and Grandpa Stewart and Aunt Mae Mae. On Sunday afternoon my Grandparents, Jim and Sharon Fitch came over for a visit. It was the first time that they had met Lincoln and Brooklyn. Both Brooklyn and Lincoln did some new tricks today. Brooklyn started holding her head up while she is on her belly....yay Brooklyn! Lincoln showed me his disappearing act. He tried to close himself in the fridge. Not so yay for Lincoln, but at least he thought it was fun.

We recently went to the beach with the Alvarez family to take pictures. They took our pictures and we took their pictures. Now I know that those of you who are non floridians are going to think that I am a wimp, but it was freezing cold that day. I think it was like 60 degrees that day maybe colder. The killer was the wind. Anyway we decided to go anyway, but it didn't help our family pictures. Brooklyn was crying most of the time. She had never really been exposed to that kind of cold before. The boys were just space cadets that day. We might try taking pictures another day. We'll see.

So I decided that Brooklyn needed some pig tails. I think she is going to take after my sister Chelsea. She used to scream bloody murder whenever mom would do her hair. I have tried doing piggies before, but she sees the comb and she just starts crying. I think i will just stick to the easy bows until she gets a little more hair.

Leo the Lion

Braden was able to bring home his class mascot. We were able to take Leo the Lion to all sorts of places. We took him to places that started with L's. We took him to a Latin market. We took him to Lowe's were he went to the lumber yard and sat on a lawn mower. We even took Leo to Braden's friend Lilly's house. Braden had a lot of fun with Leo.

A not so Happy Halloween

So these are our little trick or treaters. Braden was the blue power ranger, Lincoln was Optimus Prime, and Brooklyn was a fairy. We went to the ward trunk or treat and had fun, at least until the very end. Yesterday, we were talking with our kids and telling them that when we went trick or treating the next day that it was very important for them to stay near by us at all times. Well come tonight, Braden decided he was going to do his own thing. Barry was chasing him around all night trying to get him to stay near us, but he wasn't listening very well. The party was over and he told Braden that it was time to go and that he needed to go to the car. Barry turned around to hand Brooklyn to me so he could get Lincoln and Braden took off. We have no idea where he went but we looked for him for about a half hour. We had several people helping us look for him. He had run off and was playing with Jesse Thayn. I was almost was crying at one point. We eventually found him, he had lost his candy bucket though. So we had a little chat with him. Come to find out he had heard us calling his name and he didn't come. We were planing on walking around our neighborhood after our trunk or treat, but Lincoln only got to go. Braden had to go straight to bed. That is why you only see Lincoln outside in one of the pictures. So that is our adventurous night, I hope that your Halloween was a little better than ours.

I was tagged again! This time is was by Wendy Frederick. I am supposed to tell 7 interesting things about myself, so here we go again!

1. When I was 2 and 1/2 I was burned when a teenage boy took off a radiator cap of an overheated car. I had second and third degree burns all over my body, but the only scars that i have are on my shoulders and on my arm.

2. I had eye surgery when I was 4 for a lazy eye. I can't believe I am saying this but I actually used to run into walls because of it, or so I am told. I really don't remember it.

3. I have had two babies on their due dates, that doesn't happen very often.

4. I love to sing and act. As a child and teenager I played Mary in "The Secret Garden"; a maid in "My Fair Lady"; Kim in "Bye Bye Birdie"; I was Hope Heartcore in "Anything Goes", and I was in the chorus in "Fiddler on the Roof".

5. I grew up in a little town called Charleston, Illinois. It was actually one of the sites of the Lincoln/Douglas debates. Abraham Lincoln lived near there as a child and the cabin that was his home is still there, they have reenactments of that time period and the debates as well. You often hear that area called that Land of Lincoln. That is one of the reasons we named our second child Lincoln.

6. I want to go back to school this next fall and get my degree in Sign Language interpretation. I started to take sign language my freshman year and I just fell in love with it. But, I got pregnant and I got pregnant again, and then Barry started school, and then I got pregnant again. Life just happened. But I am determined to start school again. After I get my degree I would love to volunteer places so that I can keep fluent with the language. Eventually I would like to get a job interpreting for deaf children in a school. I think that might be when my children are older and gone though....I dunno, it is so far away.

I have been major slacker ever since Brooklyn was born, but this time I did have an excuse. Lincoln broke our camera, but it was still under warranty so we shipped it to the canon factory and they fixed it for us. So we didn't have a camera to take pictures with. These are just a few pictures of the kids. Braden is obsessed with Brooklyn. This morning I heard him talking to Brooklyn so I looked over and he was leaning over giving her a kiss and said very softly, "I love you, Brooklyn, you are one of my best friends." I just thought that was so sweet. He really loves his family. I am so grateful for my children. I love them so much. They can be a handful at times, but I love them nonetheless.

Today Brooklyn was blessed in our church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Her father blessed her with the power of the priesthood and the blessing is basically to record her name on the records of the church and to give her blessings throughout her life. My dad and his wife, Michelle, came to visit from Southern California and I was so glad. We surprised her with an early birthday bash. She turns 50 this year and it was fun to surprise her. My brother also came up from Miami and it was great to have him here as well. The boys absolutely love Uncle Ryan and all the kids had fun taking turns putting on his sun glasses. My mom, Jeanee, came after Brooklyn was born to help out. I am so glad that she did. I ended up getting mastitis, which is a breast infection, in both breasts. You basically have flu like symptoms, not to mention your breasts are just so painful. It was not fun. I was in bed for a couple days so thanks mom for the help, you were a life saver! Braden's first day of Preschool & More Brooklyn

Braden had his first day of preschool yesterday. He had such a good day. I was sad that I had to miss being there to see him go, but Daddy did a great job. Also, here are more pictures of Brooklyn. Barry's story of the labor was pretty accurate, I have always wondered what it would be like to have a baby with no epidural, and I must say that now that I have had the experience, I don't think that I will ever do it again. With the next baby I will be letting them know as soon as I get to the hospital that I will be getting an epidural. The other thing that I think is interesting is that I have heard that you recover more quickly if you do not have an epidural, I don't think that is true at all. Maybe it is just because it is my third baby and my body is just more tired, but I thought the recovery with this one was about the same as the other two. Anyway, here are some more pictures.

This is Barry, filling in for Kassi on the blog (temporarily)...

So August 16th was a great day, it started for Kassi at about 3am when she began to have some intermittent contractions. She quietly waded through them downstairs, while the rest of us slept.

When we all woke up at about 7:30am she had eaten breakfast, packed her things, and taken a nice long warm shower, and was just all pretty as could be (I almost thought she was going some where else). She still wasn't quite ready to go to the hospital, so we went downstairs, and the boys and I had breakfast, and did our normal Saturday morning routine (which included some nature shows on Nat-Geo). There was a children's talent show planned at the church and I was going to take the boys, when Kassi called her OBGYN's office to get some advice. She still wasn't ready to go, so the boys and I went up to the church just to play around with their cousins on the basketball court. By then it was about 10:45am

At about 11:15am, Kassi called me to tell me that the contractions were becoming more frequent and regular, but she would time 2 more sets and let me know.

At 11:20am, she called and told me to get home, pronto.

So I swapped cars with my brother Jeremy (the boys were staying with him) and high-tailed it home. As I walked up to the porch there was a "pass along" card left from the missionaries of our church on the door (Kassi had told me that she was in the middle of a contraction so she didn't answer it when they had knocked). As we grabbed our stuff and left, we ran into one of the new missionaries. He tried to strike up a conversation with us not knowing we were already members, after we had told him we were on our way to the hospital to have a baby. We politely told him that we had to go, and jumped in the car to go to Tampa General Hospital.

As we pulled out of the neighborhood I asked "Did you get the camera?". Kassi and I had been kidding around with each other all morning and cracking jokes, but she got the most serious look on her face and said "No! Turn Around!"...So we did, and I sprinted inside to get the camera (good thing we did or we wouldn't have any pictures for you!) . As we pulled away the second time, we noticed the missionaries' car had been stalled and they needed a jump. So we slowed down just enough to tell them that we would call someone to help them, then slammed on the gas to get on our merry way once more.

We got to the hospital at around noon, and we were put in the triage area immediately. Kassi was doing great at bearing the pains she had, she would breathe well and just let me know when to stop trying to make her laugh.

At about 1pm, it was official she was in "labor" and was being admitted to the hospital's L&D area. Kassi said she wanted to walk (it was just around the corner) so we did. By the time we got in the delivery room, she had begun to transition. Kassi wanted an epidural, but things began advancing so rapidly that it looked like it didn't matter what she wanted, things were just going to happen. and That's when things got interesting...

At about 1:15pm, the Dr. did another exam, and her water broke, and then there were more contractions, and my hand started to hurt, and more contractions, and "wow, honey can I take my ring off before you squeeze my hand again", and then "I can't do this anymore...I need DRUGS!" and "I'll see if the anesthesiologist can get her in time, and "GET THIS BABY OUT OF ME!" and "try to focus on breathing" and "honey you're doing great" and "honey, I need to ice my hand" and "OH MY GOSH....PLEASE MAKE IT STOP!" and "focus on pushing" and "keep pushing, and breathing, and pushing" and "I see her head!" and "keep pushing, we're almost there" and...

Well at about 1:30pm, she (Brooklyn Claire Pope) finally came out, and it was just great.

She weighs 8 pounds 1.8 ounces, and is 20.5 inches, and she has the fullest, thickest head of dark (really dark) wavy, hair. Take a look...

She's beautiful (Just like her mom).

Mom is doing fine, and so is Brooklyn.
Dad is plum tuckered out.
Braden and Lincoln are excited (but really they're always excited about something).

We are one lucky family, blessed with this wonderful addition to our clan.

And even though we've had other additions to our family before, it just feels different this time for this daddy and his little angel of a little girl.

It sure is great being a daddy...again. There really is nothing like it.

The Glass Family Comes to Visit

We recently had some friends come and stay with us. The Glass family used to live here about 2 years ago and moved when they got reassigned for the air force in Ohio. We had a wonderful time when they were here. It was almost as if they never left. Our kids got to know each other once again.

Happy Birthday Braden!

Happy Birthday Braden! Today was Braden's 4th birthday. It was a really nice day. He started off the day by being able to open one present. He chose a present from Grandma and Grandpa Stewart and he opened WALL-E. He loved it and played with his little moving robot all morning.

When Daddy got home from work we had dinner and then Braden got to open his presents. He also got an outfit, books, and PJ's from Grandma & Grandpa Stewart. He got some clothes and transformer toys from Grandma and Grandpa Peterson. We got him some transformer toys as well and the movie Robin Hood.

You can tell by Braden's face that he was so excited about the transformers. He is a big fan. He loved blowing out the candles on his cake, but loved eating it more.

I think that Dad was just as excited about the Transformer toys as Braden was. I on the other hand hate them, because I cannot transform them, and who is home all day with Braden asking, "can you transform this?".....ME! I am getting better now though. I guess practice makes it perfect. We ended the happy day with Braden wearing his new pajama's to bed. I cannot believe I have a 4 year old. Time flies when you have kids!

You know you are really pregnant when....
1. People ask you if you are having twins
2. Your son tells you your belly is getting really fat
3. People ask you how far along you are and when you tell them they just get this look on their face like, wow you're huge.
4. People say, "oh there's no way you're going to make it to your due date!"
5. You think you might have super human hearing powers. Translation - every sounds your children make will make you want to claw your ears drums out. Or at the very least, tie them to their beds so they stop running through the house. Around here we call that "time-out".

I know that I am really prego! I get comments everywhere I go now. I know I have four weeks left, but people just think I am abnormally large. Every doctors visit that I go to they tell me that I am measuring perfectly and that my weight is fine, so why does every Tom, Dick, and Harry think I am a moose!?! I dunno. I think that's why I hate the end of pregnancy the most, not because I am uncomfortable, but because of peoples' comments.
I also must say that I need to be more patient with my boys, lately I get very agitated very quickly. They are just little boys afterall. They do all the normal things that little boys do.

Kitchen Counters

Some of you might know that we recently put granite tile on our kitchen counters. I am happy to say that we are finally done! Barry did it all by himself and I think that it looks fantastic. I helped here and there, cutting tiles and what not, but it was mostly Barry. It took about 6 days to complete. The hardest part for me was living without a kitchen sink and a dishwasher, but it was well worth it. If you live in Brandon come on over and take a peek!

Lithia Springs Park

This week Barry has had to work a 1pm to 10pm shift. So he has had the mornings off. This morning we went to Lithia Springs Park. It is a beautiful county park about 15 minutes away from our home. The water is pretty cool and it is a really fun place. As you sit in the water little fish just come right up to you. I was sitting in the water and they started to circle around me. It was so neat! After we played in the spring we went for a walk around the park and just saw some beautiful scenery. Then we took the boys to the playground to play. The spring connects up with a river and so you can also go and canoe. There is a camp ground as well. I think that we will definitely come back and camp there sometime.

Barry's Beard

Okay, so some of Barry's friends had a mustash growing contest a couple of months ago. Barry didn't participate (he wasn't invited either) because he has to shave for work every day. The contest went on for about 2 weeks, and all of the guys mustash's were pretty pitiful. Here are pictures of the guys' mustaches:

A visit to Grandpa Turnbull

Barry has off for the rest of the week. We were supposed to go to the Blackwelder family reunion, but were unable to due to my being so far along in pregnancy and the fact that the family reunion is in Tennessee. So we decided to go and visit Barry's Grandfather Lloyd Turnbull in Fort Myers, FL. We had a nice time visiting. The boys loved looking out the window of Grandpa's condo, being that it is on the 19th floor of a high rise. They also loved getting rides on Grandpa's mobile chair. My favorite part is listening to Grandpa's stories of when he was young. He told me about how the radio came about when he was a teenager. Kids have it so different these days. He also told me about how men weren't allowed in the delivery room back then either. I am so glad that Barry is able to be in the delivery room now! He has so many things to tell and we enjoy visiting him.

Beach Time

Today we went to the beach with extended family. Laura and her boys Tyler and Travis came as well as Ginny and Jeff. The boys enjoyed themselves playing in the water and building sand castles. I applied 50 spf sunscreen twice to the boys in a 4 hour time period and they still burned, not too bad though. I guess that's Florida for you!

Happy 4th of July!

Yesterday we had a very wonderful 4th of July. We started out by going to the parade, which the boys loved, but it was so hot.
We went with a lot of friends. The Pirotta's were the troopers and went early to save us a seat. We showed up about 20 minutes before the parade along with the Mitchell's, Thayn's, and the Ostrom's.

The kids colored the road with sidewalk chalk until the parade started and all the adults just visited.

When the parade started the kids lined the curb and we had a nice time.

I felt so bad for the boys, both of their faces were bright red, but they were having loads of fun. Lincoln clapped and cheered for every single float that went by.

Then we went to see the movie WALL-E which I didn't think was all that great, but Braden and Barry liked it. Lincoln got pretty wiggly about half way through but what can you expect from Lincoln...he's got a short attention span! Anyway, after that we went home and took naps, then went to Robin and Netta's (my in-law's) for a BBQ. We went to the park not far from their home and played Frisbee...I just watched the boys play on the playground. Then we went to see the fireworks that they shoot off at the mall. We had a nice time and by the end of the day we were all sweaty and dirty and ready for baths and bed.

Guess what? Braden can swim all on his own! The last few times we went to the pool he was asking me if he could swim with out his floating device and so I let him. He would mostly just hop around. Well I guess it was just the fact that we had gone swimming every day this last week, and maybe he saw his cousins swimming around but one day he just started swimming. He cannot doggy paddle yet, but he is definitely swimming underwater. Hurray for Braden!

Yesterday I had a wonderful baby shower. All of my friends and some family came to shower with me with gifts for little baby Brooklyn Claire. I got so many cute things and I am so excited for her to be born so I can dress her in them. I have so many wonderful friends here and I love them all. Rainy Day

So this Saturday it rained and rained and rained. I love the rain, but, it was sad because Barry is home on Saturdays and we usually go out and do stuff but we were stuck inside all day. So we just played and rested and relaxed. Barry and the boys got out the big exercise ball, we don't use it for exercising just playing, and they bounced on it for a while. It turned out to be an okay day after all.

The boys have been sick lately. it is no fun. Lincoln got croup and it turned into a cold, and now both Braden and Lincoln have the nasty cold! I am so tired of being at home! We recently had Lincoln's pictures taken for his 2nd birthday and we got them back today. I cannot believe how grown up he looks. He is not my little baby anymore. He is huge. I am so blessed to have two wonderful little boys. They can be challenging at times, but they are so much fun.

Baby Brooklyn

I had a really great experience with my last doctor's appointment. I got to see Brooklyn in 3-D. It was so neat. You can tell that she is going to have the same little round nose that both of her brothers have. I just fell in love with her all the more. As I watched the screen you could see her move, rub her nose, try to suck her hand, and suck on her bottom lip. At one point I even got to see her yawn. It was so fun. I get these weekly emails telling me what is going on with the baby and here is what this week says, "How your baby's growing: By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world." I am 28 weeks. I am now going every 2 weeks to the doctor. I can't believe this pregnancy has gone by so quickly already. Hopefully it continues that way.

So we had the most wonderful memorial day, for the most part. We started off by going to our ward's annual memorial day breakfast at 7am. They had yummy fruit, eggs, grits, bacon, biscuits & gravy, pancakes, and orange juice. My favorite part was the orange juice. It wasn't watered down this year...YAY! After we ate we played Frisbee and everyone just played on the play ground and had a great time. Then we all gathered at the baseball field and had a good softball game. Both of the boys got to take turns going in the outfield with Daddy and playing. Both Braden and Lincoln wanted to bat, but they are still a little young. I sat in the bleachers and talked with the other sisters in our ward and watched the game. After the game was over we went and got Slurpee's at the nearby gas station. So yummy! We went home only to find that our air conditioning was not working. Of course no one is open to come and fix it on memorial day so we just had to suffer through the 87 degree weather. Barry went to go play golf with his dad and his brother Jeff while the boys and I tried to take naps in the hot house. Lincoln slept very soundly, Braden and I did not! Oh well. After naps we went to my in laws and had a BBQ. I love food, I love BBQ, and I am pregnant, so I ate a TON! We ended the day trying to cool dow by taking cold showers and settled in for a pretty cool night. We were lucky that the heat subsided.

Supermen

The boys love for me to tie their blankets around their necks so that they can be superman. Then they run around the room and "save people". It just cracks me up every time.
Today we were reading a book about animals and we came across a panda and I told Braden that giant panda bears live in China. He said, "We go to eat there right?" I said, "Yes we go to eat Chinese food at a Chinese food restaurant, but the real Chinese food is in China." So he said, "One day I want to go to China and eat Chinese food." Don't we all Braden, don't we all.

Thomas the train

So, when it comes to building the train tracks for our boys' Thomas set, Barry is usually better at it than me. But lately, I have been getting pretty good at it. It is actually pretty fun to come up with new ways to build your tracks and watch the boys enjoy them. Barry used to call it his Therapy after work, and now I know what he means. If any of you have a train set, you should definitely just get down and play!

So I know that it is Mother's Day, but it is also Barry's 30th Birthday! We had a nice day. Last night we were arguing about who would make breakfast in bed for who, because it is a mother's day tradition for him to make breakfast in bed for me. It is also a birthday tradition to make breakfast in bed though. So I decided that I would make my favorite breakfast- breakfast burritos- and serve it to both Barry and me in Bed. It was really yummy. The rest of the day was normal. The boys were pretty crabby today, they were just extremely tired, but what can you do.

Wedding Anniversary

Today is my fifth wedding anniversary. I am just so happy that I met my true love, Barry Thomas Pope. He is the best thing that ever happened to me. I know that I married young, but I married the right man. So thank you for asking me, Barry. I love you so much honey!
